It is important to keep our children healthy and safe in a clean environment.
Parents will be asked to voluntarily clean the nursery school once per school year. Cleaning should take place between Thursday at 5pm and Sunday night (excluding Sunday morning). Plan to spend about three hours. A key to the classroom and further cleaning instructions will be available to you the week before you are scheduled to clean. If you are unable to clean on your scheduled weekend, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can arrange for you to trade dates with another family. The Nursery School provides all cleaning supplies.
Any family who makes a charitable donation to BNS of a minimum fifty dollars will be automatically excused from housecleaning duty, and a tax-receipt will be issued for your donation.
Donations must be received by Sept. 30 of every year to be eligible for automatic withdrawal from housekeeping duties.
Parents who volunteer on the BNS Board of Directors are also automatically excused from cleaning duty, as they already dedicate many hours to the operation and safe-keeping of Brandon Nursery School. We are always looking for great directors, so please contact us to get involved!
Covid Update:
At this time, we ask that parents/guardians provide their own food for their child at snack time. Their lunch bags will be kept in their lockers until snack time.
As per the Day Care Licensing Manual, snacks should include:
Prior to Covid the following applied:
A few times per year, you will be asked to provide juice and a nutritious snack for your child's class of 15-17 students. BNS will provide the snack for the first three weeks of school, and after that, a snack schedule will be posted on the bulletin board just outside the BNS classroom. Please note that Brandon Nursery School is a nut-free environment. Home-baked goods are not permitted, due to possible cross-contamination with nuts. If there are any additional food allergies in your child's class, that will also be noted on the schedule. Please have snack food washed and cut, ready to serve.
As per the Day Care Licensing Manual, snacks should include:
